The National Library of Wales commissioned this website to publish over 6000 images taken in Wales and the English border region during the Second World War, 1939-1945, by the newspaper photographer, Geoff Charles. This project was sponsored by the Big Lottery Fund, as part of the ‘Their Past Your Future’ programme…
dotnet works developed the powerful databases and designed the site to allow visitors to :
search and browse 6000 images by names, places and subjects
read introductions on selected themes
share memories, stories and experiences.
dotnet works also developed an educational resource section, where teachers can exploit prepared lesson plans and interactive games.
“dotnet works ltd. were easy to work with, flexible and reliable, and always responded promptly to our requests.
Together, we have produced a website we are extremely proud of, one that will be an invaluable resource for authors, historians, students and the people of Wales and beyond.>
Our website, geoffcharles.llgc.org.uk, provides a worldwide audience with easy access to images that capture the spirit and determination of Wales and the Welsh during the Second World War.”
